The first project will begin in December 2007 at Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA) Lagoon Creek combustion turbine plant. The project will add 600MW of combined-cycle capacity to the plant’s existing capacity of 1,020MW.

The value of this project to URS is approximately $180 million over 30 months. TVA currently is evaluating other projects for future capacity addition.

Stephen Hanks, president of URS’s Washington division, said: We are pleased to be expanding our relationship with TVA through this important alliance. This is a significant initiative that will provide superior value throughout TVA’s system.
