As per the terms of the agreement, Invensys will supply XTO Energy with a suite of software that will precisely monitor, manage and optimize XTO Energy’s operations and assets throughout its enterprise to help drive productivity, the company said.
The integrated well field management solution will support XTO Energy’s upstream gas operations with configurable software running on Invensys Operations Management’s Wonderware System Platform. It will manage more than 10,000 wells, helping to monitor and optimize XTO Energy’s gas production throughout North America. Invensys will also provide ongoing training, development and support services.
John M Gilmore, Jr., director of upstream oil & gas at Invensys Operations Management, said: “The Invensys Well Field Application will provide XTO Energy field personnel with the information they need to improve the performance of their assets in real time.”
The company added that the application allows XTO Energy employees to review the performance of all the assets under their control, identifying which are under-performing and quickly zeroing in on the cause and fix for the problem.
The company claimed that personnel can view asset trends displays, adding new parameters as needed, and authorized operators can make changes to well head and field controls from within the solution, using the standard faceplate for the particular control device.
