Located in the PLS area, the two claims total 2,835 hectares and the region is said to be highly prospective for unconformity-related uranium mineralization.
Fission and Nexgen Energy have already identified uranium deposits and their mineralization at their properties is considered to be an attractive target due to its shallower depth over other unconformity-related deposits in the Athabasca Basin.
Comstock Metals’ properties are called PL Northeast, and are in proximity to and along trend of the uranium mineralization discovered by Fission and Nexgen Energy.
The remaining claims are located southwest of the Key Lake deposit.
Comstock Metals is planning to conduct an exploration program in the winter-spring season of 2014-2015.
The program will include airborne and ground geophysical surveys, geochemical surveys, prospecting and boulder sampling, which will help the company to define drill targets.
