The 24 MW Basse Thiérache Sud wind farm, featuring eight Siemens turbines with a unit capacity of 3MW, is located on the communes of Iron and Villiers-lès-Guise in the Aisne department.
Jointly owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles and Diamond Generating Europe, the wind facility is expected to generate power, equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of over 21,000 inhabitants.
A total of 934 MW of wind farms are being operated by the company and added 160 MW of gross capacity in France over 2014.
EDF Energies Nouvelles has 7,190MW of gross installed capacity focused for the most part on wind (onshore and offshore) and solar photovoltaic energy in Europe and North America.
The company also focuses on other segments of the renewable energy market including marine energy, biogas, biomass and distributed energies as well as manages renewable energy projects’ development, construction and maintenance.
