Dominion stated that the consultants also agreed with its proposed route for a transmission line saying that it would meet that need with the least impact to the environment, cultural and historic resources.
Dominion is seeking approval from the State Corporation Commission (SCC) to build a 65-mile, 500,000V transmission line from the Meadow Brook substation in Frederick County to the Loudoun substation in Loudoun County.
The SCC held four rounds of local hearings in summer 2007 and after convening another public hearing, it plans on an evidentiary hearing in February 2008. Following a hearing examiner’s report, it is expected to decide in late 2008.
