The program presently has more than 4,400 customers enrolled who buy about 19,000 100-kilowatt-hour blocks every month.
Georgia Power is looking for around 80,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) yearly of green energy, 1,500 MWh annually of which may be solar photovoltaic energy.
Proposals must offer annual energy-only pricing for energy and associated renewable energy credits. All green energy resources must satisfy the criteria of the Green-e-energy National Standard for Renewable Electricity Products.
The green energy resources for the RFP are required on or before January 1, 2011. Georgia Power prefers a contract term of 10 years but will consider proposals for a 20-year term for solar resources only. There is a bidder’s fee of $200 to help defray administrative costs.
