Americas has successfully started its new expanded oil treatment plant situated on its Medanito Sur block in eastern region of the country’s Neuquen Basin.

The expanded facility will now be able to process about 6,300 barrels of oil per day.

Americas Petrogas President and CEO Barclay Hambrook said, "Our new, expanded facilities, which allow us to treat oil to pipeline specifications, should position us to reduce our per-barrel production costs."

In addition, the company has also begun its new tanker truck terminal and lease automatic custody transfer (LACT) unit located in Rio Negro province, where it delivers oil into regional pipeline carrier.

A LACT unit is used to measure the volume and quality of oil being transferred from the company to the pipeline carrier.
