Ashraf requested Japan’s investors to invest in Pakistan’s potential energy sector.
Atsumi stated that Japan’s business community in Pakistan is ready to provide additional investment to extend their operations while new firms also want to commence their businesses in Pakistan. He asserted that the power sector is one of those five sectors prioritized for partnership in Tokyo’s Friends of Pakistan (FoP) conference.
Atsumi requested for a comprehensive strategy paper on the power sector to assist Pakistan in fulfilling upcoming challenges. He also wanted particulars of certain projects chosen by Pakistan for investment.
The minister stated that a comprehensive power vision has been described in the strategy paper inclusive of certain water and power sector projects.
He affirmed that Pakistan was also concentrating on alternative power projects such as coal-based generation, wind and solar energy and hydropower.
