The company will supply 15 units of the MM92 type turbine for the 10MW Whispering Woods and 20MW Ganaraska wind farms, which will be located in southern Ontario’s Oshawa region.
The facilities are expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 60,000 homes annually.
Both the wind farms have been awarded a feed-in tariff power purchase contract by the Ontario Power Authority, and environmental studies are currently being completed for each project.
REpower, a Suzlon Group company, manufactures onshore and offshore wind turbines.
