Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC’s) projected offtake from Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) for this equipment is about INR2 billion for the next three years, for its onshore as well as offshore projects.

This is the second time BHEL has received such a contract from ONGC. The engineering firm had earlier received a long-term contract from ONGC in February 2004 for similar equipment. The contract expired in February 2007.

BHEL’s scope of work in the present contract envisages manufacture and supply of over 500 sets of well head assemblies and 350 sets of Xmas tree valves per annum.

ONGC’s regional offices located across India will compile their requirement and place orders directly to BHEL, as per the agreed rates, terms and conditions of the contract.
