Talbert held the position of director in El Paso since 2003. He is also a director of Transocean Ltd, where he earlier served as chairman and chief executive officer. He also served as chairman of the board of The Offshore Drilling Company, president and chief executive officer of Lone Star Gas Company and president of Texas Oil & Gas Company.
At the meeting all 11 nominated directors were chosen for a term of one year. Ten of El Paso’s 11 directors are independent, as defined by NYSE listing requirements.
