The ministry plans to spend CNY100m ($15.37m) for tasks including nuclear and radiation safety monitoring, radioactive environment monitoring across the country.
It will also include measures to check electromagnetic radiation at key facilities and to offer technical support for supervising civilian nuclear facilities.
The ministry has also allocated CNY50m ($7.68m) to assess technologies in ensuring safety of nuclear works, according to the report.
Nuclear safety projects were not included in the last year’s budgetary report.
According to the budgetary report for 2011, the Ministry of Environmental Protection said, out of the total budgetary expenditure of CNY1.92bn ($300m), CNY1.12bn ($170m) will be used for 61 environmental projects, reports Xinhua.
