The annual output of the new facility is expected to be sufficient to supply power to around 10,000 households and to avoid atmospheric emissions of 51,500 tonnes of CO2 per year.
With the commissioning of this new installation, Iberdrola Renovables said that it is strengthening its presence in the US market where it is reportedly the second-largest wind power operator by installed capacity.
The US market will be center to the group’s expansion over the next three years, according to the firm.
Iberdrola Renovables noted that new projects in the US will add almost 22,000MW to the 2,145MW total it accounted for at the end of 2007, and will account for nearly half the group’s capacity growth worldwide.
