The proposed site for the solar can support as much as 20MW of solar electricity generation – using either a fixed tilt or a single axis tracking system, both of which have been developed by Siliken.
At an elevation of 5300ft, with cooler, high desert temperatures, the site is expected to help the Sunshine Solar Farm increase the PV efficiencies of solar panels.
Soil tests show that the land is conducive for the foundations of a solar panel racking system. For every 5MW, a solar farm will require roughly 25,000 photovoltaic panels on racks.
