The investment done by GTLI, whose biggest investor is Jindal Steel & Power, has reached $11 million to explore and drill the PMR-15 well, which process has been taken some 25 days.

Bolivia had made $2.98 billion in 2008 for hydrocarbons export. But the incomes will be only $1.88 billion in 2009, as per estimations.

The Gas Energy Latinomerica consultancy estimated that the incomes in 2010 will between $1.3 billion and $1.4 billion.

Yacimiento Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) needs more than $4 billion to commence-up the industrialization process of hydrocarbons.

William Donaire, deputy minister for the commercialization and industrialization of oil and gas, said that the Bolivian government does not have those resources until now, and it will seek the funds to guarantee the process.

“The industrialization will not be done in one day, it needs more than 4 billion dollars and the government has to seek the funds together with the YPFB,” Donaire said.

Bolivian Hydrocarbons Minister Oscar Coca said that Brazil has requested Bolivia to export 30 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
