The well at the Santiago exploration prospect is located in 6,500ft of water on Mississippi Canyon Block 519.
The company drilled the well to a total depth of about 18,920ft and discovered about 60ft of oil pay in a high-quality Miocene reservoir.
Noble Energy is the operator of the Santiago prospect with a 23.25% working interest.
The company said Santiago is the third discovery in its Galapagos project, in addition to the prior successes at Santa Cruz and Isabela.
