The Khandke wind farm was commissioned in December 2007. The Khandke project is expected to earn ~85,000 Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) annually from UNFCCC.
This project is in line with the company’s plans to add ‘clean and renewable energy’ generation capacity to meet its commitment of reducing its carbon footprint.
The company said that the CDM will allow countries with emission reduction commitment to meet part of their reduction abroad, where Green House Gas (GHG) abatement costs can be lower.
The company believes that the CDM will also enable developing countries to attract investments in clean energy technology and assist them on a sustainable development path.
