HPFL subsidiary HPFL 2 owns the Thebuwana project located at Kuruwita while the Stellenberg project located at Gampola is owned by HPFL 3, another subsidiary.
On completion, the plants are expected to deliver around 2MW of power to the national grid.
The company secured relevant approvals for these projects and also signed power purchase agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board.
Under the agreement, the company will supply power generated from the hydro project for a period of 20 years.
