Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC), a Cellnet+Hunt TS1 customer since 2001, cited Cellnet+Hunt’s dependable service and reliable technology as key factors in their decision to add more than 30,000 two-way smart meters as part of a system upgrade project.

SSVEC plans to leverage the expanded functionality of TS2 to bring advanced metering to the urban areas of its service territory. In total, SSVEC manages over 4,000 miles of power delivery lines across a widely dispersed service territory.

At present SSVEC uses the Cellnet+Hunt TS1 system to manage automated meter reading for nearly 22,000 of its more remotely located members.

SSVEC will use the capabilities of its new Cellnet+Hunt TS2 advanced metering platform to support time-of-use (TOU) rate programs for its members. The TOU rate programs is expected to complement renewable and energy efficiency programs in place including the Sun Watts solar power program and the Touchstone home energy efficiency program.
