Rafael Raimrez, Venezuela’s oil minister, was quoted by the news source as saying that Venezuela is looking for another partner as it cannot work with ExxonMobil at the 190,000 barrels-per-day capacity refinery.
According to Mr Ramirez, Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) has begun re-directing oil consignments destined for the Chalmette refinery to China, as ExxonMobil has terminated imports to the refinery due to its dispute with PDVSA.
