The plant is expected to start its trial production in the last quarter of this year, with commercial production scheduled for 2016.

Berl spokesperson Abbie Chittock said the company will produce over 1,11,000 litres of vegetable oil in the first year and will produce four-million litres by the end of five years, reports maravipost.com.

The company aims to reach a production level of 29-million litres of jatropha oil and Berl is supporting over 30,000 local farmers who are growing jatropha for biodiesel production, Chittock added.
