The line was equipped with Composite Technology’s (CTC) ACCC conductor technology while the conductor has been provided by Lamifil, a provider of conductor solutions.

The transmission line which covers a distance of two kilometers is part of a line that runs between Bielsk Podlaski and an urbanized area in Eastern Poland, the Hajnowka on existing steel towers.

The conductor has been selected in preference to a larger ACSR conductor due to the superior sag characteristics and higher capacity of the smaller ACCC conductor which allowed the existing towers to be used.

CTC Cable president Stewart Ramsay said the company is very pleased that PGE Dystrybucja Bialystok has chosen the ACCC Helsinki conductor for this project and believe that the conductors to provide a viable option for transmission and sub-transmission lines.
