The company has invested EUR5m in the new plant, located approximately 500 kms south of Moscow.
Siemens has started manufacturing 110kV and 220kV dead-tank and live-tank circuit breakers and disconnector switches in the new plant.
The facility, with a floor space of about 6,000 square meters, is designed for an annual production capacity of 500 circuit-breakers.
In addition to the production of the circuit-breakers, the scope of services offered by the production location will also include marketing and after-sales service.
Siemens said it will also produce power transformers and gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear at its production location in Voronezh.
According to the company, the associated facilities are either planned or already under construction.
