The well has penetrated a sand package preliminarily identified as the Lower Tuscaloosa Massive Sand with approximately 50ft of thickness and exhibiting elevated gas readings.
The well will be drilled up to a depth of approximately 12,800ft where the company will conduct wireline logging to analyze the sand package and interval drilled to-date followed by the installation of a string of protective casing.
From there on, the company will continue the drilling program to the next casing point at approximately 19,000ft. The company plans to drill the Burkley-Phillips No.1 well to a total depth of 22,000ft to the deeper Haynesville target formation.
