The company will hold a 17% interest in the power project, which is expected to cost approximately RMB70bn ($10.87bn).
Construction of the facility began in 2008 and the project will have six pressurised water reactors each with a generating capacity of 1,000MW.
The Yangjiang nuclear station will supply electricity to meet local demand in the Guangdong province, CLP said.
The power project is expected to be commissioned in phases between 2013 and 2017.
