In addition, the company has secured $10m funding package from Victoria State Government towards its Mildura demonstration facility and related product development program.
Also, Solar Systems, a subsidiary of Silex Systems, has secured additional finance aid from the Federal Government of Australia.
Silex CEO Dr Michael Goldsworthy said that operational commencement of the demonstration plant is a significant step for commercializing its unique dense array CPV technology.
"The first array consisting of 10 dish systems has been successfully commissioned and is operational, with the remaining three arrays of 30 dishes to be brought online progressively over the next few weeks," added Goldsworthy.
Meanwhile, the company has inked a power purchase agreement with Diamond Energy to procure the energy produced onto the local Mildura grid.
To further boost its solar project portfolio, the company is outlining the development of next phase of 100MW Mildura solar power station project. The construction is expected to begin in 2014.
Solar Systems has commenced the construction of its first offshore demonstration facility in Saudi Arabia with its dense array CPV dish technology. The 1MW plant is expected to be operational by third quarter of 2013.
