If approved by the FERC, the company will build and operate FLNG regasification facility four miles off the southern coast of Puerto Rico.

The proposed offshore FLNG project, known as Aguirre Offshore GasPort, will be a LNG import facility.

It will provide fuel to the Aguirre Central Complex and convert power generation from costly and high-emissions imported oil to economic and clean natural gas.

The Central Aguirre Power Complex will convert 900MW of existing power generation to be dual-fueled, capable of using No. 2 diesel and natural gas as its primary fuel.

Subject to approval, the facility is expected to be in-service in early 2015.
