The new cryogenic natural gas processing plant called East Texas Beckville Plant will have a capacity of 150 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d).
It will increase Enbridge’s processing capacity to almost 820MMcf/d in the Cotton Valley and Haynesville shale regions.
Enbridge estimates the cost of East Texas Beckville Plant Project to be at $140m.
The Beckville plant to be constructed in the productive rich gas Cotton Valley Play will be interconnected with existing natural gas liquids infrastructure in the area.
Enbridge Energy Partners president Mark Maki said the company is constructing the new gas processing plant in line with its goal to strengthen its core gas assets and deliver accretive growth.
"The Cotton Valley Play is an active natural gas drilling region, and the Beckville Plant Project integrates nicely with our existing and extensive East Texas gathering and gas processing system," Maki added.
"This new plant will offer incremental processing capacity for existing and future customers in the 10-county Cotton Valley Play."
Construction of the East Texas Beckville Plant and its associated facilities is anticipated to begin in late 2013, while operations are expected to start by early 2015.
