Under the contract,signed with Teollisuuden Voima Oyj, Wärtsilä will supply the diesel generators, which are a part of the power plant’s safety systems for the Olkiluoto 1 and Olkiluoto 2 units.

The company will also provide the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of the process equipment.

As part of the contract, the emergency generating power will be supplied by nine Wärtsilä 32 engines running on light fuel oil.

In addition, the company will supply all the necessary auxiliary equipment for the plant.

The diesel generators will be used for back-up to secure the power supply for the nuclear plant.

Wärtsilä will deliver and install the equipment in phases starting from 2016.
