In addition, the company said that the joint venture areas were located at more than 180km from Aura’s resources at Reguibat. Any mineralization at the joint venture areas would have not impacted on the main project areas.
Earlier in 2010, Aura entered into a joint venture agreement with Ghazal Minerals which covered two permits, the Bir Moghrein and Agouyme with large areas of radiometric anomalies.
Aura’s wholly-owned Reguibat project, meanwhile, comprises of calcrete uranium mineralization in northern Mauritania. The project has an inferred resource of 50.2 million pounds at 330ppm uranium ore at a cut-off grade of 100ppm uranium ore.
