As per the terms of the agreement, Greenhurst is mandated to supply and operate a diamond processing facility to extract diamonds sized about 0.5mm-1.5mm. Further, Southern Era is not liable for any operating costs investment in the project.

Greenhurst has appointed bulk sampling company Gemcore for mining and processing bulk samples from the slimes dams remaining the operator of the project.

Mwana chief executive officer Kalaa Mpinga stated that the company is pleased with the joint venture and is looking forward to work with Greenhurst.

"The proceeds from this venture should contribute to our ongoing care and maintenance costs at Klipspringer whilst we review the restart of commercial operations at the mine," added Mpinga.

The proposed processing plant is estimated to have a capacity of 50 tons per hour, with a projected monthly throughput of 22,560 ton. Gemcore, meanwhile, is keen to conclude the commissioning by the fourth quarter of 2013 with production following henceforth.
