Yamagata Area Environmental Office Association is a body comprising two cities and two towns in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.
Under the contract approximately JPY18.5bn ($156m), MHIEC will build two fluidized bed type gasification and melting system 1 with capacity of 150 tons per day (tpd) and a waste heat recovery system.
The company will also operate the facility, which will be commissioned in October 2017, for a period of 20 years and 6 months.
The contract for Tachiyagawa Energy Recovery Facility Construction and Operation Project involves development of WTE Plant to replace the outdated Tachiyagawa MSW Incineration Plant in the city of Yamagata.
Featuring two fluidized bed gasification and melting system with capacity of 75 tpd each, the facility will comprise a steam turbine power generation and hot water supply system that runs on waste heat produced in the incineration process.
