The RMB320m ($52m) Nanqiao project has an annual agricultural waste and straw processing capacity of approximately 280,000t.
Featuring a 130t/h furnace and a 30MW power generator, the project can generate on-grid electricity of 200,000,000 kWh annually.
Everbright International CEO Chen Xiaoping said: "The People’s Government of Anhui Province has issued the Options on Accelerating the Development of Agricultural Straw-to-energy Projects and the Options on Financial Subsidies for Agricultural Straw-to-energy Projects, which will encourage the investment and construction of biomass power generation projects to help solve the problem of agricultural straw burning in the countryside and protect the environment.
"Following the biomass integrated utilisation projects in Dangshan, Hanshan, Dingyuan, Huaiyuan and Lingbi, the Group continues to intensify its efforts in the investment and construction of biomass projects in Anhui Province."
