The 1,500m Phase I diamond drilling program will focus on follow up drill holes, including GC-15 and along strike of east-west resistivity low, evaluate the resistivity low anomaly and magnetic contact up-ice from the radioactive boulder-field.

The drilling will also study structural and geological setting of gold mineralization at the Star property.

Lakeland Resources president and CEO Jonathan Armes said: "The augmentation of historic exploration data with recent exploration results for these properties, coupled with a modern understanding of uranium mineralization in the basin has greatly enhanced the potential of this Phase I drill program.

"The Company is well funded to carry out exploration on a number of its wholly owned Basin properties, and we expect a very busy and exciting year."

The Star property is believed to be highly prospective for uranium, gold, platinum group element and rare earth element mineralization.

Comprised of five contiguous claims totaling 12,771 hectares, the Gibbons Creek property covers a portion of the company’s Riou Lake property and its depth to the unconformity is known to be shallow increasing the economics of exploration.
