A prescribed project status allows the Queensland Coordinator-General, if required, to interfere in approvals processes to construct, maintain and operate a project for timely decision making.
The latest declaration includes the Baralaba Expansion Project as well as all supporting infrastructure.
Cockatoo Coal had earlier completed a Bankable Feasibility Study and an optimized Supplementary Bankable Feasibility Study (SBFS) for the Baralaba Expansion Project located in the Bowen Basin, central Queensland.
The proposed expansion project is estimated to have a life of minimum 20 years with a strip ratio of 9.7:1 and an early capital expenditure of A$311m ($276.7m).
