The company is intending to commence construction of 20MW renewable plant in September 2013 with plans to complete it by 2015. The plant would use wood chips as feedstock.
EPC chairman and CEO Fernando Martinez told The Philippine Star that the company would source the feedstock from industrial tree plantations in Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur.
"Plant site in Butuan City is on final validation which will be decided this September to pave the way for necessary permitting," Martinez added.
The power developer has collaborated with the Manobo Council Wawa Tribal Community for plantation across 10,000 hectares area in Agusan del Sur. The plantation will be used to supply feedstock for the biomass plant.
As per the agreement, the company will pay 20% net revenues from the facility to the Manobo community.
