Under the agreement, Trina will supply 1,133,550 dual-rated, 72-cell PD14 solar modules of its high-quality PV multi-crystalline modules to the 345MWdc solar project.

Trina Solar Americas president Mark Mendenhall said that selection of the company for the project demonstrates its capabilities in meeting the evolving demands of customers in a maturing market.

"We look forward to completing this project and powering tens of thousands of homes with clean, reliable solar power," added Mendenhall.

The solar modules manufacturer has scheduled to supply the modules starting fourth quarter of 2014. Construction of the project, by UK-based engineering company, is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2015.

Following its completion, the solar facility is estimated to produce electricity enough to power 80,000 homes for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, and the City of Burbank.
