Ocean Installer will use its construction support vessel Normand Clipper for the work, which involves cutting and recovery of 472m of 20in downhole casing from the seabed, at around 580m water depth.
Onshore operations will be supported by the company’s Aberdeen office.
Ocean Installer UK managing director Martin Sisley said, "We are very pleased to have been awarded this contract by Total."
"Tomintoul is located in an area characterised by demanding environmental conditions in terms of wind, currents, waves and water depth, and we will work closely with Total to deliver in a safe and efficient manner," Sisley added.
