Under the contract, Power Machines-led international consortium will build the power plant, which is expected to help reduce the hydro generation share in the nation’s electric power system.
The consortium will also serve as the general contractor for the project, which is expected to be completed in 2019.
The Unit 1 and Unit 2 of the power plant, which is one of the key projects under the 2011-2020 National Power Development Plan, are expected to enter service in December 2017 and May 2018, respectively.
Designed to provide approximately 7.8 billion KWh annually to the national electrical grid, the power plant will ensure national energy security as well as promote economic development.
Russia’s power plant engineering company Power Machines focuses on design, manufacture and complete delivery of the equipment for thermal, nuclear, hydraulic and gas-turbine power plants.
For Vietnamese power plants, the company-manufactured equipment with a total capacity above 4GW for more than 40 years.
