The company has announced the updated the feasibility study to include a new and larger resource estimate as well as some modifications to the capital and operating cost assumptions, and lower graphite prices.
Northern Graphite chief executive officer Gregory Bowes said that the update proves that the Bissett Creek project still comprises solid, attractive economics to proceed with low resource, technical and political risk.
"Production will be almost entirely large and extra large flake concentrates which gives us a substantial advantage over deposits that will produce a high percentage of small flake and -150 mesh fines as these products have experienced greater price declines and they have significantly greater marketing challenges," Bowes added.
Extensive purification testing has been carried out by the company over the last two years and is developing a commercial process to produce and sell high purity (99.95%Cg+) products, the company said.
Additionally, the company upgraded Bissett Creek concentrate for use in Lithium ion batteries.
