The agreement includes planning and management of scheduled outages, continuous monitoring and feedback of plant data, and the flexibility to adjust maintenance based on operating conditions.
Wartsila area general manager, agreement support Aron Rader said, "We are very pleased PGE has entered into a Wärtsilä maintenance agreement which provides technical support, parts and safety spares inventory, as well as risk sharing support in managing its Port Westward Unit 2 operations."
The Port Westward Unit 2 plant, being developed for Portland General Electric, will consist of 12 Wartsila 50SG natural gas fueled engines with an output of about 220MW.
The plant is scheduled to be operational in 2015.
