The new record coal widths have been intersected in the previously undrilled Kokkia license area at Uzgen basin coal project.
Began in July 2013, the physical exploration season for 2013 is scheduled to be completed by the company in a few weeks.
The work program involves coal assaying and other coking testwork to determine quality parameters, following the completion of physical exploration including mapping and drilling, as well as interpretation of drilling results and modeling of geology and correlation of coal seams.
With early production, Celsius Coal’s program aims to target areas which comprise potential higher value coals.
Celsius executive chairman Alexander Molyneux said, "Sampleas are now progressively being sent to the lab and we will be publishing detailed results as they come through in the fourth quarter."
The Uzgen coal basin consists of Paleozoic, Mezozoic and Cenozoic rocks, which involves the main coal deposits of Kyrgyzstan such as Kargasha, Kokkia, Min Teke, Kumbel, Zindan Chitty and Besh-Terek coal deposits.
