Besides providing turbines, Siemens will provide service and maintenance for three years for the project, located in the county of Haldimand.
Siemens will manufacture wind turbine blades at its Tillsonburg facility in Ontario and will source towers and steel for the turbines from CS Wind in Windsor and Essar in Sault Ste. Marie.
The wind project, which will produce enough clean energy to power around 50,000 Ontario homes annually, is part of the 250MW Grand Renewable Energy Park.
Siemens Canada vice president, wind power Jacob Andersen said that the company is providing turbines for the project, which will contribute to the Green Energy Act and Green Energy Investment Agreement.
