Under the contract, Power Machines will supply two hydropower equipment sets, which include a radial-flow hydroturbine, complete with a 17MW rated generator as well as electromechanical auxiliaries.
Power Machines will also be responsible for installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning of HPP electromechanical equipment.
The hydro power plant is scheduled to be commissioned in 2016.
The La Mina hydro power project is the first plant being developed under the Gualquivilo – Melado hydropower chain, with a total capacity of more than 400MW, in Chile.
Earlier, Power Machines supplied equipment on a turn-key basis to the Quilleco hydro power facility in Chile, which is now operating since June 2007.
The company also conducted hydroturbine model testing, and also delivered two hydrogenerators, each with a capacity of 77.5MW, complete with excitation systems for the La Higuera hydro power plant, which was commissioned in 2010.
