The VTEM survey follows completion of set up and testing of the system and is the first ever helicopter electromagnetic survey to be carried out in Sri Lanka.
Bora Bora managing director Chris Cowan said, "The survey has generated great interest in Sri Lanka and is very positive for mineral exploration in the country."
Additionally, approvals for the Paragoda VTEM survey block and flight plan have also been finalized, with survey to commence following conclusion of the Matale survey.
Geotech Airborne has been commissioned by Bora Bora to collect 1,587km of data over Matale and Paragoda North.
A number of known graphite occurrences will be covered in the survey, which should assist with final interpretation of the data and targeting of new anomalies for ground follow up.
