
Under the €23m contract, Alstom will be responsible for the design, civil works construction, erection and commissioning work of the substation, which will connect the Hydro Sogamoso power plant to Bogota, enhancing the reliability of energy system in the region.
The company plans to complete the project by mid-2017.
The substation will support the Colombia’s national program of energy improvement. The country aims to develop projects in order to reduce power loss, meet the environmental standards and ensure that the substation operates at optimum efficiency.
Alstom will deliver air-insulated switchgear comprising live tank circuit breakers, disconnectors and instrument transformers, as part of the contract.
