The two wind farms include 10MW Comes de l’Arce wind farm, which was acquired by the Enel Green Power France recently, and the 22.8MW St-François wind farm.
Power generated from both the wind farm will be sold to Électricité de France under 15-year power purchase agreements.
Boralex president and CEO Patrick Lemaire said: "Following analysis and development of the Yellow Falls hydroelectric project for which the rights had been acquired previously, Boralex finally started to work on its first hydroelectric power station in Ontario."
Located on Mattagami River, 18km south of the municipality of Smooth Rock Falls, the 16MW Yellow Falls hydroelectric power station is 75% owned by Boralex.
Scheduled to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2017, the hydro power project is being construct with an investment ranging between $90m and $95m.
The project will produce 67 Gwh of power and an annually earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of $7m.
The company said the project is under an initial 20-year power sales contract with four renewal options each for a five-year period, at the company’s discretion.
