The first three units, each with 600MW of generation capacity, of the Jindal Power’s OP Jindal Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) extension project were also commissioned earlier by BHEL as part of a contract.
Under the contract, BHEL is responsible for the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers and associated auxiliaries and electrical, as well as controls & instrumentation (C&I) and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs).
Till date, the company is under contract to deliver a total of 21 sets of 600MW units, of which 13 have already been commissioned.
The company earlier executed four 250MW units for the same customer at Raigarh.
