The company will also provide the front-end engineering design (FEED) for a 615,000 barrel-a-day refinery.
HoneyWell will supply Experion PKS as the main control system for the new refinery complex and integrate process automation systems throughout the site.
The new refinery is expected to start operations in 2018, while KNPC presently holds three refineries, which produces 930,000 barrels a day.
The new refinery complex will help in meeting domestic demand and export of ultra-low sulfur products such as fuel oil, diesel and kerosene, along with petrochemical feedstocks.
Kuwait National Petroleum general manager James King said the firm will become one of the largest producers of clean fuels in the Middle East with the new refinery.
"Honeywell’s suite of proven technologies for the refining industry is well suited to support a quick and safe refinery start up, and efficient operations," King added.
