Awarded through Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Engineering & Construction (E&C), the €10m contract covers supply of an air-cooled ALEX condenser with duty of 120MW and with 18 fan units by GEA Energietechnik.
Operated by Ivoirienne de production d´Electricité (CIPREL), the power plant is currently undergoing expansion with financing support from the World Bank, and is scheduled to be put into operation in 2015.
The expansion is expected to enhance the energy efficiency of the power plant by approximately 25%, without consumption of additional natural gas.
Specifically, the project will contribute toward reducing power generation costs in favor of local consumers, expanding a reliable power supply network, and also supporting the economic growth of the region.
